Vintage Bird

Hello!  I'm so excited to be hosting my first challenge on SplitCoastStampers (SCS) today.  I am hosting the Ways To Use It Challenge and today's challenge is all about Versamark. It's a tried and true stamping staple. I opted to break out my Versamark marker and pastel chalks for the challenge to see what I could create.

I used my background stamp in black. After drying, I colored in the flowers, flourishes, etc. with a Versamark marker then chalked where I marked. Then I added another distressed background stamp to give the card more of a vintage feel. Finished with a bird, twine and ribbon.
Here are a few ideas for using Versamark to get your creative wheels turning:

• Heat Embossing
• Pastels / Chalking
• Watermark Images
• Resist (stamp on glossy paper, then brayer ink on top)

Join in the fun, it's so simple.  All you have to do is create a card using Versamark, snap a quick photo and upload it to SCS (enter keyword WT284).  That's it, easy peasy lemon squeezy.  Leave a comment if you are inspired to go create!

Just for You

I created this quick and simple card for the SCS Inspiration Challenge today.  The challenge was to create a card inspired from Decade Gifts.  I chose the great trio of necklaces shown in the photo below. 

The next few days may prove to be good for card making since it is suppose to be in the high 90s / low 100s.  You know it is going to be a hot day when the air is turned on before 10:00 am.  Enjoy your weekend.

Fancy Bird Cage

This card was created today for the SCS Sketch Challenge.  I don't know why, but this card was sure a challenge today.  I think I was fighting with the patterned paper because I wanted to incorporate more color into the card, but I just didn't get it to work.  Oh well, tomorrow is new day.

Two Cute Pumpkins

Here is my card for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge this week.  The good card mojo was flowing today.  Maybe it was because I was making my first Halloween card of the year!  I just love, love, love making Halloween cards.  So much so that I usually create a completely different design for each and every Halloween card I send.

Little Birdie - No Worries

As a mom of two boys, it's hard not to worry sometimes.  But today is a day off with no worries (not a real day off...there isn't such a thing with two boys).  A day of no worries just a day of summer with swimming lessons, preschool, play dates and a picnic lunch, that's today.

Beyond celebrating the carefree "ness" of summer, this card was created for the Embellish Magazine challenge.  The challenge is to use the photo as inspiration and design a card using the colors: pink, brown and green and incorporate birds.

I love the bright pink flower, flowery green button and most of all my new brown and white striped bakers twine.  Love the bakers twine in all the new colors.

Wedding Sweet

Saturday was a power card making day.  I went to bed with a smile on my face because I made three cards just for fun and they all turned out lovely!  I love all the elegant details on this simple card.  From the deep embossed damask background, to the silky satin ribbon, the precious pink rosette (thanks to my MN peep for that lovely detail) to the pearl outlined greeting.

Made With Love

Today was another great relaxing summer day. The guys in the house have been on a Lego building brigade the past two weekends. So after I finished up the kitchen and laundry chores and cleaned up my work space a bit (why can't it stay clean?), I was able to put together this card.

My main inspiration for the card was the glittered "made with love" label I purchased a few days ago. The label is actually part of a piece of patterned paper that is all food/cooking labels all glittered up in pink, turquoise, and yellow.
